1. Who we are
ABACUS Auto-Fill is a Chrome browser extension built and operated by ABACUS Wizard for licensed insurance and financial professionals. The extension exists for one purpose: to pre-fill insurance applications on supported carrier eApp portals using data the agent has already entered into their ABACUS Wizard account.
2. What data we handle
When you use the extension, the following categories of data are read from the carrier eApp page and/or sent between your browser and your ABACUS Wizard account:
- Personally identifiable information (client name, address, email, phone, date of birth)
- Financial information (income, net worth, source of funds, banking routing/account)
- Health information — only when the product being applied for is non-annuity (height, weight, tobacco use, basic medical questions)
- Authentication information (your ABACUS Wizard secret API key)
3. Where your data is stored
- Your ABACUS API key, language preference, last-selected client ID, last-selected FNA ID, and that client's display name are stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your computer. They never leave your machine except as bearer tokens on requests to your own ABACUS Wizard account.
- Client records (FNA answers, eApp prep data) live in your ABACUS Wizard account — the same database you already use. The extension fetches them on demand; it does not maintain a separate copy.
- Field overrides you create with Alt+Click (mapping a carrier field to an ABACUS field for future fills) are stored in chrome.storage.sync. Chrome syncs this small mapping (no client data — only field selectors and ABACUS field names) across browsers where you are signed into the same Chrome profile, so your saved overrides follow you. You can review and delete them in the extension popup under Advanced.
- Capture Mode (an optional Advanced toggle, OFF by default) records the carrier-page field selectors and labels you focus while it is on. These are stored only on your machine in chrome.storage.local and downloaded to a JSON file when you click Download capture JSON. They are never auto-uploaded.
- We do NOT store the contents of carrier eApp pages on our servers. The extension reads form labels in your browser and fills them locally; the page contents are never transmitted to us.
4. Who we share your data with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent, or share extension data with third parties. We do not run analytics or tracking scripts inside the extension. The only network destinations the extension contacts are:
- Your own ABACUS Wizard account (to fetch client data and to power Abby, our AI helper)
- The carrier eApp page you are currently viewing (to fill its form fields)
- Anonymized fill-quality telemetry: after each Fill This Page run, the extension may send back metadata about which fields it could NOT match — the field's selector, label, and the carrier hostname. NO field values are ever included. This helps us improve carrier coverage. Aggregated only; not shared outside ABACUS.
5. AI features (Abby)
When you ask Abby a question on a carrier page, the question and a minimal context snippet (the field label or section name you're asking about) are sent to your ABACUS Wizard account, which forwards it to our AI provider. Carrier-specific personal data is not included in the AI prompt unless you explicitly ask Abby to recommend an answer for a specific field. AI conversations are retained by your ABACUS account for your own audit history; they are not used to train any third-party model.
6. Permissions used and why
- storage — remembers your API key, language, last-selected client (chrome.storage.local), and your saved field overrides (chrome.storage.sync) between popup opens.
- activeTab + scripting — lets the extension read and fill the active carrier tab when you explicitly click Fill This Page. Never fires in the background.
- Host permissions for ~30 carrier and aggregator domains (FireLight, iGo, iPipeline, Hexure, Allianz, Nationwide, North American, F&G, Athene, Corebridge, Lincoln, Pacific Life, Symetra, Global Atlantic, Equitable, Mutual of Omaha, Securian, John Hancock, Penn Mutual, Transamerica, American Equity, Delaware Life, EquiTrust, Prudential, etc.) — required to recognize each carrier's distinct form fields. The extension does not run on any other site.
7. Your control
- You can disconnect the extension from your ABACUS account at any time using the Disconnect link in the popup. This wipes the stored API key from chrome.storage.local.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time from chrome://extensions. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data.
- You can rotate your ABACUS API key from Settings → Extension inside ABACUS Wizard. Rotating immediately invalidates the old key.
8. Data retention
Local extension storage is wiped when you click Disconnect or uninstall the extension. Client records inside your ABACUS Wizard account are retained per the ABACUS Wizard Terms of Service and your firm's record-retention policy.
9. Children
The extension is intended for licensed insurance and financial professionals only and is not directed at anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top of this page when material changes are made. Significant changes will also be announced inside the extension popup.
